LtCol Michael J. Byrne​


LtCol Byrne currently serves as the Associate Dean for Academics at the Marine Corps War College, Quantico VA.

 

LtCol Byrne enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserves in 1987 and was trained as a Field Radio Operator.  He served with 4th Combat Engineer Battalion, 4th Marine Division.  He was activated in 1990 to augment 1st Combat Engineer Battalion and deployed to Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.  He was commissioned in 1993 and was trained as a Logistics Officer.  

 

Lieutenant Colonel Byrne’s assignments in the operating forces include Shore Party Platoon Commander, MEU Service Support Group-26, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit; Assistant Operations Officer, MEU Service Support Group-26, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit ; Logistics Officer, 2d Air/Naval Gunfire Liaison Company, II MEF; Assistant Logistics Officer, 3d Marine Regiment, 3d Marine Division; Logistics Officer 3d Marine Regiment, 3d Marine Division; Materiel Readiness Branch OIC, G-4, 3d Marine Division; Inspector-Instructor Combat Logistics Battalion 23, 4th Marine Logistics Group.
 
Other assignments include Guard and Facilities Officer, 1st Marine Corps District; Logistics Officer, 1st Marine Corps District; Commander’s Action Group, HQ US Special Operations Command; CENTCOM Regional Working Group, J-4, HQ US Special Operations Command; EUCOM Plans Officer at Plans, Policies, and Operations (PP&O), HQMC; Military Faculty Advisor, Marine Corps Command and Staff College.
