BIOGRAPHY

Seth Givens is an historian at the Marine Corps History Division. He received his Ph.D. in military history from Ohio University, where he wrote a dissertation on Berlin’s role in U.S. policy and strategy toward Europe throughout the Cold War. His focus is on strategy, civil-military relations, and the transatlantic alliance. At the History Division, his focus is the Marine Corps in the Vietnam War and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is writing the official history of the Marine Corps in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
