Cellphone & Tablet Information

The Marine Corps University has a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy that allows Students and Staff members to have their Personal iOS or Android Phones and Tablets configured to access MCU Email, Calendar, and Drive.

Users can contact the Marine Corps University Helpdesk if assistance is needed setting up MCU Email, Calendar, and Drive on their personal mobile devices. Please contact the Helpdesk either through email (helpdesk@usmcu.edu), phone call (703-432-4866), or walk-in/appointment. The Helpdesk office is located in the Warner Hall, building 2044, in room 3178.

 

If You Are Having Issue with Your Device Setup

  • Visit the MCU IT Helpdesk office located in the Warner Building Room 3178.

  • Email (helpdesk@usmcu.edu) the Helpdesk team to have your EDU account loaded to your device with instructions sent through email (remote option) 

  • Email (helpdesk@usmcu.edu) the Helpdesk team to have your EDU account loaded to your device with instructions over a phone call with one of our technicians (remote option) 

Personal Laptop Information

The Marine Corps University (MCU) does have a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy that allows all students to be able to use their own laptops and CAC enabled tablets on the provided wireless (CampusNet) network.

The Marine Corps University Information Technology (MCU IT) Helpdesk can provide handouts and web link for students so that they can walk themselves through the setup process. If the student or staff is unable to properly configure his/her device, a MCU IT technician can assist if no other IT related priorities exist. Please note that the MCU Technology Department will not become liable for information lost or hardware damage.

The DoD Antivirus Software License Agreement from McAfee allows active DoD employees and authorized government contractors to use the antivirus software for personal device protection. Download instructions are located here:  Antivirus Home Use Program

NOTE: Please ensure you have your "Email Certificates" loaded by DEERS

If you do not already have one, you will need to purchase a Department of Defense (DoD) approved Common Access Card (CAC) Reader. You will find information on how to obtain one on MilitaryCAC.com.

CAC Support for MAC Users

To begin you using your CAC with your Mac Computer, please do the following:

  1. Get your CAC reader.

MCEN SYSTEM SUPPORT

The MCU IT Department Technicians DO NOT have any support privileges or elevated rights to assist with MCEN related issues. See below for the Enterprise Service Desk contact information.

13 August 2018 (MCINCR G6 RSD Support):

- Users contacting the MCINCR G6 RSD, by phone, will receive notice to contact the ESD for all MCEN-N and MCEN-S trouble reports and service requests.

- Users emailing MCEN-N or MCEN-S trouble reports to the MCI NCR G6 RSD will receive a response to please contact the ESD to report their trouble.

- Users contacting the MCINCR G6 RSD at 703-784-2111 to report phone or radio trouble or request services will receive service support.

Step 1: Cyber Awareness and PII Certificate

All users requesting an account must complete Cyber Awareness and PII training. After the training is completed, you will receive your Cyber Awareness and PII Certificates. The Cyber Awareness and PII Certificates are REQUIRED in order to request a Marine Corps University Account (EDU Account). The list below will direct users where to take the Cyber Awareness and PII courses.

Step 2: AutoSAAR Account Creation

After users complete their Cyber Awareness training and receive their Cyber Awareness Certificate, users are REQUIRED to create an account on AutoSAAR. Below is a link which will bring users to a PDF document. The PDF document shows detailed instructions on how to create an account on AutoSAAR. Follow the steps on the PDF document to create an AutoSAAR Account. AutoSAAR is a CAC-enabled website. Please ensure users have their CAC inserted into a CAC reader on their computer.
