Kathleen A. Gallaher

Kathleen A. Gallaher is currently a Communication Assistant Professor at the Expeditionary Warfare School, Marine Corps University. She attended Villanova University, earning a degree in English Education and a commission as a second lieutenant in the USMC via the NROTC program.  She attended TBS, became a communications officer, and served on the West Coast  during and after the Gulf War.

In 1993, Ms. Gallaher helped SNCOA El Toro by writing and executing a new communication curriculum for the Advance Course and taught it five times a year, for four years, both in and out of uniform.  Ms. Gallaher resigned her commission as a captain, finished her Master’s in Education from Pepperdine University, and spent the next 15 years raising her family.  In 2010, she rejoined the enlisted education community as part of Marine Corps University.

Ms. Gallaher was an integral part of the Senior Enlisted Professional Military Education Course (SEPME) faculty (MIG) for 59/60 iterations of the course from 2010-2022, providing ongoing curriculum development, conducting over 1400 hours of classroom instruction on professional communication, and providing feedback on over 8000 student essays for first sergeants and master sergeants.  In addition to SEPME, she helped develop the initial curriculum and taught at CEME’s new SNCOA Faculty Advisors Course (FAC) in 2010-2012, and she teaches Emotional Intelligence and Oral Communication at the First Sergeant School.  She was transferred from MCSEA to join the EWS ProComm team on 1 Jan 2023, where she provides faculty development and professional communication instruction and support.
