Lieutenant Colonel Jim Pineiro is the Director of CMC Fellows, Foreign-PME, Olmsted Scholars, and PHD Program at Marine Corps University, Quantico, VA.
He enlisted in the Marine Corps as an aviation electronics specialist in 1998 and was commissioned as a Combat Engineer Officer in 2009.
Lieutenant Colonel Pineiro has served on active duty for 27 years, including tours in the Ground Combat Element (GCE), Aviation Combat Element (ACE), and supporting establishment as the Branch Head for the Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory (MCWL), leading experimentation in robotics and Artificial Intelligence.
He served three combat tours in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Lieutenant Colonel Pineiro is a graduate of Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare School, Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) Course, and Marine Corps Command and Staff College. He holds an A.S. in Computer Science from Barstow Community College, a B.S. in Business Management from Virginia Tech, a M.M.S. from Marine Corps University, and an M.S. in Business Management from American University.
