Ms. Mazzone earned a bachelor's degree in Historic Preservation from Salve Regina and a master’s degree in Historical Administration from Eastern Illinois University.
After completing her master’s degree, she spent five years working as an Archives Technician for the National Park Service in California, serving at Sequoia and Kings Canyon, as well as Yosemite National Parks.
Her passion for history and preservation led her to the National Archives and Records Administration in College Park, Maryland.
From 2018 to 2019, Alyson worked with the Naval History and Heritage Command. She joined the Marine Corps History Division in 2019, where she serves as the team lead for Archives Branch.
