Major Adam J. Franklin is the Deputy Director of the Lejeune Leadership Institute at Marine Corps University.
He was commissioned in 2010 after earning a B.S. in Honors Systems Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy and subsequently earned a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida.
Following The Basic School and Logistics Officers Course, he was designated a Logistics Officer in 2013. His early assignments included serving Logistics Officer at 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division. He later served at the School of Infantry–West, where he was recognized as the 2016 Marine Corps Motor Transport Officer of the Year and earned the Holcomb Trophy during the Marine Corps Marksmanship Competition–West.
Major Franklin is a graduate of the Intermediate MAGTF Logistics Operations Course, earning the 0477 MOS (Expeditionary Logistics Instructor), the Army’s Combined Logistics Captains Career Course, Expeditionary Warfare School (non-resident), and Command and Staff College (non-resident).
Operationally, he deployed with the 22d Marine Expeditionary Unit (2018–2019) as the Assistant Logistics Officer and MEU Logistics Officer across the 2nd, 6th, and 5th Fleets. He commanded the Motor Transport Maintenance Instructional Company at the Logistics Operations School and later served as Logistics Officer for Combat Logistics Regiment 3 and Executive Officer for Combat Logistics Battalion 4. During his tenure, CLB-4 was recognized as 3d MLG’s Logistics Unit and Transportation Unit of the Year.
His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, four Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, and the Holcomb Trophy. Major Franklin has over a decade of experience in operational logistics, leadership development, and professional military education.
