Expeditionary Warfare School
Major Kevin C. Redmond, USMC

Major Redmond enlisted in the Marine Corps in July 2002 and served with 2d Battalion 10th Marines, Marine Corps Security Force Regiment, 5th Battalion 11th Marines, and Marine Artillery Detachment, Fort Sill, OK. He was commissioned in August 2016 after graduating from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology.

Second Lieutenant Redmond reported to 1st Battalion, 11th Marines in March 2018 and was assigned as Platoon Commander with Battery A. He deployed with Battalion Landing Team 3/5 in support of WESTPAC 19.2 from May to November 2019. Upon return he was assigned as Executive Officer, Fire Support Battery from February 2020 to January 2021, then assumed duties as Assistant Battalion Logistics Officer from January 2021 to June 2021.

Following graduation from Expeditionary Warfare School in May 2022, Captain Redmond reported to 2d Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company (2D ANGLICO) and was assigned as Team Leader/Joint Terminal Attack Controller for Supporting Arms Liaison Team Bravo (SALT B) and Brigade Platoon Commander, First Brigade Platoon. During this time, he participated in multiple exercises across the United States and Europe with joint and allied partners.

In May 2024, Captain Redmond joined 2d Battalion 10th Marines and assumed duties as Battery Commander, Battery E. From October 2024 to April 2025, he deployed to Okinawa, Japan in support of Unit Deployment Program 25.1. During this time his battery supported the Alert Contingency Mission, and he served as Officer-in-Charge for a Mobile Training Team with a key strategic partner in the region. In June 2025, Major Redmond reported to Expeditionary Warfare School for duty as a Faculty Advisor.

Major Redmond’s personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal w/two gold stars, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal w/ three gold stars, and the Combat Action Ribbon.
