Marine Corps Senior Enlisted Academy
Master Gunnery Sergeant Vincent R. Heinberger, USMC

MGySgt Heinberger is Deputy Director, Marine Corps Senior Enlisted Academy

His distinguished career reflects exceptional technical proficiency, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the United States Marine Corps.

He enlisted on January 24, 1999, completing recruit training at MCRD Parris Island and Marine Combat Training at Camp Geiger. He trained as a Metal Worker (MOS 1316) at Aberdeen Proving Ground and deployed with Marine Wing Support Squadron 272 in support of Exercise Dynamic Mix in 2000 and 2002, earning early recognition with three Meritorious Masts and a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.

In 2006, he transitioned to the Individual Ready Reserve but returned to active duty in 2007 as a recruiter with USMC RS Cleveland, earning MOS 8411 for his outstanding performance in inspiring future Marines.

He later served with 1st Maintenance Battalion and deployed to Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan, earning the Afghanistan Campaign Medal and NATO Medal. Promoted to Gunnery Sergeant in 2013, he further developed his leadership at the Staff NCO Career Course.

His technical and leadership skills were evident as Engineer Equipment Maintenance Chief at 9th Communication Battalion and Engineer Equipment Chief (MOS 1349) with 8th Engineer Support Battalion. He also served as SNCOIC with Joint Task Force North in Yuma, Arizona.

Culminating his career, he served as an Enlisted Assignments Monitor at HQMC, M&RA, where he earned a second Meritorious Service Medal for shaping the careers of fellow Marines.

Most recently, he served at 2nd Marine Logistics Group as Engineer Equipment Commodity Chief, Engineer Occupational Field Sponsor, and G-4 Chief, continuing to contribute vital expertise and leadership.

His awards include two Meritorious Service Medals, a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, three Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, and seven Good Conduct Medals.
