Biography

Expeditionary Warfare School
Major Kyle W. Wilmouth, USMC

Maj Wilmouth graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology.

He enlisted into the Marine Corps Reserve in 2004 and served with 3d Battalion, 25th Marines as a Communications Maintenance Technician and Communications Platoon Sergeant. In 2005 he deployed to combat for Operation Iraqi Freedom.

After completing The Basic School and the Signals Intelligence Officer Course, 2ndLt Wilmouth’s first station was Camp Lejeune, NC where he served from 2011 to 2016. He first served with 2d Radio Battalion as a Platoon Commander and Current Operations Officer. Deployments here included to combat for Operation Enduring Freedom and to Stuttgart, Germany in support of the MARFOREUR/AF G-2. In 2014, Capt Wilmouth was assigned to the 2d Marine Division G-2 as the G-2 Operations Officer with a follow-on assignment to 3d Battalion, 8th Marines as the Bn S-2. He supported a UDP with V38 in 2017.

Capt Wilmouth was later assigned to Marine Corps Intelligence Schools as the Company Commander for Advanced Training Company and Instructor for the MAGTF Intelligence Officer Course in 2017. During this tour, Capt Wilmouth assisted in redesigning the Intelligence training model for both entry-level and advanced students.

Maj Wilmouth was assigned back to Camp Lejeune as the Intelligence Officer for the 22d Marine Expeditionary Unit in 2020. The 22d MEU deployed to the EUCOM AOR in 2022. During this deployment, Maj Wilmouth oversaw more than twenty intelligence collection operations that satisfied local, Fleet, Combatant Commander, and national intelligence requirements across USEUCOM and USAFRICOM.

After completing resident PME in 2023 at the Marine Corps Command and Staff College, Maj Wilmouth was selected for assignment as a Faculty Advisor at Expeditionary Warfare School.
