Biography
Command and Staff College
Lieutenant Colonel William E. Barr, USMC

LtCol Barr is the Deputy Department Head, Warfighting, at Command and Staff College. He was commissioned through the Officer Candidate Course in December 2008. Trained as an Air Traffic Control Officer, he has held aviation support billets across all active-duty Marine Air Control Groups.

He deployed to Afghanistan in 2012 as a Marine Mobile Air Traffic Control Team Leader and to CJTF – Horn of Africa in 2017 as a Plans Officer.

In 2018, he gained the 7202 MOS, Air Command and Control Officer. As such, he served as the Air Traffic Control Facility Officer for MCAS Yuma, Company Commander of the 1st MAW Tactical Air Command Center, and Aviation Command and Control Detachment OIC for the 31st MEU.

Outside of the aviation field, LtCol Barr served as a Series Commander, Company Commander, and Battalion Operations Officer with Recruit Training Regiment, MCRD Parris Island.

LtCol Barr has an MBA from Liberty University.
