Major Moore commissioned in the Marine Corps in May 2013 upon graduation from The Citadel with a Bachelor of Social Science degree in Political Science, International and Military Affairs, and received his commission through the Naval Reserve Officers Training Course. He attended The Basic School, Quantico, VA and obtained the Communications Officer Military Occupational Specialty.
After graduation from the Basic Communications Officer Course, Twentynine Palms, CA, he was assigned to 1st Tank Battalion as the Assistant Communications Officer. In April 2016, First Lieutenant Moore became the Battalion Communications Officer.
In September 2017, First Lieutenant Moore was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines as the Battalion Communications Officer, where he deployed in support of Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force-Crisis Response-Central Command. He was promoted to Captain on 1 December 2017.
In July 2019, Captain Moore reported to Expeditionary Warfare School, Quantico, VA as a student.
Following graduation from EWS in May 2020, Captain Moore was assigned to the Command Element, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) as the Assistant Communications Officer. The Command Element composited as an off-cycle MEU for Operations Allies Welcome, and again as a fully composited Marine Air Ground Task Force for the 2023-2024 Amphibious Ready Group/Marine Expeditionary Unit deployment to the Fifth and Sixth Fleet Areas of Responsibility. Captain Moore was promoted to Major on 1 May 2023.
In June 2024, Major Moore reported to Expeditionary Warfare School for assignment as a Faculty Advisor.
Major Moore’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Gold Star.
