Command and Staff College
Lieutenant Colonel Aaron M. Doty, USMC

LtCol Aaron Doty is currently assigned as Future Plans and Curriculum Development Officer at Marine Corps Command and Staff College, Marine Corps University.

Prior to his current assignment, he served as Artillery Advocate and Future Plans Officer, within the Future Plans Branch (POF) of Plans, Policies and Operations (PP&O), Headquarters Marine Corps.

Joining the Marine Corps, his journey began at recruit training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California in November 1993, and was then awarded a Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) scholarship at the University of Missouri, graduating In December 1998.

LtCol Doty is a Field Artillery Officer and served with both the active and reserve components of the Marine Corps throughout his career. His service includes assignments with 5th Battalion 11th Marines, 3rd Battalion 10th Marines, both 1st and 2nd Marine Division and various ground units as well as the Inspector-Instructor of 3d Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company. He has deployed six times with the 13th and 24th Marine Expeditionary Units, 10th and 6th Marine Regiments, and Joint Special Operations Command.

LtCol Doty attended the U.S. Army War College and its associated Advanced Strategic Art Program, where he earned a Master of Strategic Studies in 2019. He is also a graduate of the Marine Corps University Command and Staff College where he earned a Master of Military Studies in 2015.
