Command and Staff College
Lieutenant Colonel Robert W. Featherstone, USMC

Lieutenant Colonel Featherstone commissioned after graduation from the U. S. Naval Academy in May 2004. Trained as a Communications Officer, he has held Communications Officer billets at all levels in such places as Camp Lejeune, NC; Quantico, VA; Cherry Point, NC; Great Lakes, IL; and The Pentagon. He has deployed once to Iraq (2007-2008) as an Embedded Combat Advisor with the 1st Iraqi Army Division and once to Afghanistan (2009-2010) as a Company Executive and Operations Officer with 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade.  Outside of the Communications Field, LtCol Featherstone has served as an Aide de Camp to the Commanding General, Training Command, and most recently as the Commanding Officer, Region 1 (Eastern Europe and Eurasia), Marine Corps Embassy Security Group.

LtCol Featherstone is a graduate of the Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare School (Distance Education Program), Marine Corps Command and Staff College (Distance Education Program), Naval Postgraduate School, and Naval Command and Staff College. He has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the U. S. Naval Academy, a MS in Information Systems from the Naval Postgraduate School, and a MA in Defense and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College.
