Lieutenant Colonel Allison N. Smyczynski

Lieutenant Colonel Allison Smyczynski, originally from Freeport, NY, and raised in Long Valley, NJ, graduated from Temple University in 2007. She commissioned as a Second Lieutenant through the Officer Candidate Course in 2008 and completed The Basic School and Logistics Officer Course in 2009.
Throughout her career as a logistician, LtCol Smyczynski has held key positions within the Marine Logistics Group and Marine Aircraft Group. During OEF, she deployed with Combat Logistics Battalion 2 in the Helmand Province, serving as the S-4A/Embarkation Officer, Current Operations Officer, Landing Support/Heavy Equipment and Truck Platoon Commander. With 24th MEU, she deployed on the USS New York as a CLB-24 Platoon Commander and Detachment Officer-in-Charge, participating in significant exercises such as African Lion and Eager Lion. She also served as Operations Officer for CLB-24 and contributed to Exercise Bold Alligator and II MEF DSCA. Within MAG-39, she served as the S-4 and commanded Motor Transport Company within Marine Wing Support Squadron 372 with later roles as the MAG-39 Group Logistics Officer/Department Head and Co-Chair of the Women’s Leadership and Education Committee.
LtCol Smyczynski’s instructional experience includes serving as an OCS Platoon Commander and Academics Instructor, as well as a TBS Warfighting Instructor, Staff Platoon Commander, and Company Executive Officer. She completed a HQMC tour in M&RA, Manpower Management Officer Assignments Branch as the Joint Officer Matters Officer.
LtCol Smyczynski attended both Resident Expeditionary Warfare School and Marine Corps Command and Staff College, and completed the Advanced Expeditionary Logistics Operations Course as a Distinguished Graduate. She earned a BA in Spanish and Criminal Justice from Temple University, an MS (Summa Cum Laude) in Intelligence Management from Henley-Putnam University, and an MMS from Marine Corps Command and Staff College, complemented by a Graduate Certificate from the Gray Scholars Program in the Social and Political Conflict Lab.
