Lieutenant Colonel Secor reported to the School of Advanced Warfighting to serve as the Deputy Director in April 2024.
Lieutenant Colonel Secor attended the University of Wisconsin – Madison, was commissioned through the NROTC program in May 2004 and assigned as a Field Artillery Officer. He received a Master of Military Studies and a Master of Operational Studies from Marine Corps University in 2016 and 2021, respectively.
Lieutenant Colonel Secor has served as a platoon command and battery executive officer in 1st Battalion, 11th Marines, 1st Marine Division; as the Fire Support Coordinator and company commander in 3d Battalion, 3d Marines, 3d Marine Division; as the Regimental Assistant Fire Support Coordinator and battery commander in 1st Battalion, 12 Marines, 3d Marine Division; and as the Battalion Operations Officer and Executive Officer in 2d Battalion, 10th Marines, 2d Marine Division.
His staff assignments include serving on the Officer Candidates School staff as a platoon commander, company executive officer, Scheduling Officer, and Coordinator of Student Activities; on the Expeditionary Warfare School faculty as a faculty advisor and course director; and on the US Marine Corps Forces Europe and Africa staff as a contingency plans officer.
He has deployed in support of the combat operations in Iraq (Operation IRAQI FREEDOM), in support of combat operations to defeat ISIS (Operation INHERENT RESOLVE), and in support of the Unit Deployment Program.
Lieutenant Colonel Secor is a graduate of the Expeditionary Warfare School; Marine Corps Command and Staff College; and the School of Advanced Warfighting, Quantico, VA.
