Mr. William (Kirk) Lowe

Currently working as an IT Supervisor, I support the MCU through the Customer Service Branch. We work to keep all students, faculty and staff computers and services operational at MCU. I’ve been in this role for the past 3yrs. I have 29 years’ experience as a computer expert working as a Project Manager, LAN/WAN administration, Data Center Manager, and Computer Network Defense Analyst, skilled in application systems and operations in the Cyber Information Technology Industry. I perform configurations and analyze with the following tools (ACAS, Nitro, Wireshark, Enterprise Security Manager, and MCD a proprietary tool owned by the DOD). I also perform Configuration Management activities guided by ITILv3 principles. This enables me to implement policy and provide recommendations for improvements to the network. I strive to produce results by using my experience as a Configuration Manager and IT Analyst to improve workflow. My customer service skills will far exceed expectations. I focus on the customer’s needs, provide information or assistance, and resolve the customer’s problems. My goal as a change manager is with the engineering process to maintain consistency and performance through change management process. As an IT Professional I’m committed to providing quality products and services for operational demands. Oral communication is vital when expressing information about ideas or facts to individual and team leaders effectively. I always consider the audience and the nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial) when advising of a solution. When problem solving, I identify the problem, determine the accuracy, relevance of the information, use sound judgment to generate, evaluate alternatives and to make recommendations. I’ll continue to work with staff, students, and faculty to help support MCU as a world class learning institution. Current certifications are CASP, Sec+, and ITILv3.
