Command and Staff College
Lieutenant Colonel Chris Ashinhurst, USMC

LtCol Ashinhurst commissioned through the U.S. Naval Academy in May 2004. As an Armor Officer he has held the billets of Platoon Commander, Company Executive Officer, Company Commander, and Battalion Operations Officer all while assigned to 1st Tank Battalion. He deployed twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (2006 and 2008) and twice in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (2012 and 2013). He deployed as the Future Operations Officer for the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (2017). His billets in the supporting establishment include Series Commander and Company Commander, MCRDPI; Stability Operations Coordinator, DC PP&O; Aide to the Commandant of the Marine Corps (36th and 37th Commandants); Section Head, Enlisted Retention, DC M&RA, and Battalion Commander, 3d Recruit Training Battalion, MCRDSD.

He has a B.S. in Economics from USNA, a Masters of Military Art and Science from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and a Masters of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Marine Corps War College.
