Joshua Schroeder has been an historian with the Marine Corps History Division since November 2020. He received his from Ph.D. in history from the University at Buffalo. His dissertation explored the impact of puritan efforts to co-opt English colonization in the 17th century Atlantic. Dr. Schroeder previously worked at NARA and served twelve years as a munitions specialist with the 174th Attack Wing, N.Y. Air National Guard. He is currently writing the official history of Marine Barracks Washington.
