Mr. Haskin was commissioned in 1987 at the University of New Hampshire. His initial assignment was Okinawa, Japan. From 1992 until 1999, he continued serving overseas in Germany and then the United Kingdom. In 1999 he was assigned as a student at Air Command and Staff College with a follow-on instructor job. His squadron command tour was from 2001-2003 at Hill AFB, Utah where he commanded over 850 personnel.
In 2003 he began a joint assignment with NATO at the Joint Force Command HQ, Brunssum, The Netherlands. His final active duty assignment began in 2006 at the Pentagon within the Force Development Directorate, A1D, where his focus was the development of senior USAF leaders.
After retirement from active duty Mr. Haskin became a Marine Civilian employee within the College of Distance Education and Training. His current position is Associate Dean of Academics for CSCDEP overseeing the development and execution of eight courses. Annual student population is approximately 1200.
During this time he visited several civilian and military universities for professional academic engagement to include being a Process for Accreditation of Joint Education (PAJE) team member for the J-7 and now as a member for the OBME Milestone Evaluation Team. He is the Chair for the Distance Education Coordinating Committee sharing educational challenges and solutions to all military services and government agencies involved in distance education. Mr. Haskin is also the Distance Education representative to the J-7 sponsored Military Education Assessment Advisory Committee (MEAAC) which authored the OBME Manual and continues to establish outcomes based military education throughout the DoD.
