Lieutenant Colonel Kurtis C. Kjobech, USMC

Second Lieutenant Kjobech reported in May 2004 to 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division in Twenty-nine Palms, CA as the Assistant Intelligence Officer. He deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) to Al Qaim, Iraq in August 2004. First Lieutenant Kjobech deployed next in February 2006 as the Intelligence Officer to Military Transition Team (MTT) 2-4-7 based in Rawah/Anah, Iraq.

In 2007, First Lieutenant Kjobech moved to Quantico, VA to Marine Corps Intelligence Activity (MCIA). Here he led the Asia-Pacific Branch and the Afghanistan Branch, deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) as LNO to Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force-Afghanistan (SPMAGTF-A), and then worked in the Command Element supporting Marine Corps Forces Regional Commands.

In May 2011 Captain Kjobech reported as the Intelligence Officer to 2d Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2d Marine Division in Camp Lejeune, NC. He deployed to Nawa, Afghanistan with the Battalion in support of OEF.

Captain Kjobech moved to Marine Special Operations Command (MARSOC) in October 2012., where he served as the G-2 Plans Officer and Assistant Operations Officer.

Major Kjobech reported in July 2015 to 3rd Intelligence Bn, III MEF Headquarters Group (MHG) in Okinawa, Japan. Here he served as the Counterintelligence/Human Intelligence (CI/HUMINT) Company Commander and Battalion Operations Officer.

In 2018, Major Kjobech, returned to Twentynine Palms, CA as the Intelligence Officer for the Marine Corps Tactics and Operations Group (MCTOG). LtCol Kjobech served as a Coalition Engagements Officer in Tampa, FL with US Central Command from June to December 2020.

In 2021, LtCol Kjobech joined the Brute Krulak Center for Innovation and Future Warfare inside the Marine Corps University on Quantico, VA. He moved to be the Operations Director under the MCU VP for Operations and Plans and became the Acting VPOP in January 2024.
