Biography

Tim Devlin is a native of Newark, New Jersey; he graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and was commissioned in May 1988. He has attended The Basic School, the Infantry Officer Course, Amphibious Warfare School, and Command and Staff College (non-resident).

His service in the FMF includes: Platoon Commander and Company Executive Officer with 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines; Company Commander with 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines; Operations Officer with 1st Battalion, 5th Marines; and Plans Officer with CTF-76/ESG-7. His service outside the FMF includes duty as a tactics instructor, staff platoon commander, and Enlisted Instructor company commander at The Basic School. He also served as the Digital Courseware department head and deputy director of the College of Distance Education and Training (CDET). Since retiring from the Marine Corps, he has served as CDET’s Enlisted PME Branch Head and as the Associate Dean for the Enlisted College Distance Education Program.
