Narrator: The Decision Support Template and its accompanying matrix are normally developed during the COA War Game. they combine the intelligence estimate and the adversary, situation, and event templates in one graphic depicting the flow of the operation. It depicts NAIs, Target Areas of Interest or TAIs, Decision Points or DPs, and TPLs associated with the movement of enemy and friendly forces. This highlights events and activities that require tactical decisions by time and location. The decision support matrix lists each decision point, the events occurring there, friendly and enemy actions, and the NAI feeding the decision point. The decision support template and matrix are a total staff effort. They are the responsibility of the G-2, the G-3, and the Force Fires Coordinator, or FFC, and updated throughout the planning process.
