3-18 COG (WOG)

Narrator: In the Barbary Sword example—The WOG is the Libyan operational Center of Gravity. One critical capability it has is the ability to perform combined operations. This capability requires strong command and control as well as responsive logistics support. When these requirements are not met, the critical capability of combined operations cannot function. This analysis yields two main critical vulnerabilities, enemy command and control nodes, and logistic support lines. These critical vulnerabilities can be exploited to weaken or eliminate the Center of Gravity “the WOG”. Be prepared to expand this analysis during the planning session.
