Reporter Brent Falworth: Thanks, Carla. This is the latest development in a drama that has gripped the nation of Tunisia since late spring, when Libya asserted territorial claim over the Tunisia's Mezzouna oil fields, based on historical ties to ancient tribal lands. To summarize the development of this Tunisian crisis, during late July the Libyan Western Operations Group or WOG, postured itself near the Tunisian border. Between the 4th and 10th of August, Libyan forces were found conducting platoon-sized raids into Tunisia. The impending danger of these events became intensified when Tunisia's Algerian border become threatened when the government of Algeria fell to insurgents on August the 8th.
