1-20 Liaison Officers

MSC: Liaison Officers are the subordinate or adjacent unit commanders' personal representatives charged with maintaining close, continuous contact with other commands to ensure shared understanding and unity of purpose and action. They have the commander's special trust and confidence to make appropriate recommendations and estimates in the absence of communications. Liaison officers may be assigned to OPTs, between staff functions, or between commands. A Liaison officer's sound judgment and immediate access to his commander are key to integrated planning.
