Narrator: The transition brief must be conducted by someone who is thoroughly familiar with the commander's intent and with all the details of the plan or order. Often, the COA proponent, the OPT member most intimately familiar with the COA selected by the commander, takes a very active role in this briefing. Additionally, the COA proponent and a current ops representative on the OPT, both being extremely familiar with the plan and the planning, may go forward and accompany the plan during execution. The MEF G-3 current ops section will be physically augmented by these two individuals, thus providing some continuity between the transition from planning to execution.
