COA COMPARISON AND DECISION

ACTIVITIES

Next Back

Narrator: After reviewing all the injects, the commander and staff process the information and decide which course of action best accomplishes the mission by evaluating and comparing each COA. The comparison and decision process at lower levels of command may simply be an informal exchange of information, between the commander and selected staff members, concerning the results of the war game. At higher levels of command, the process is normally a formal sequence of activities, including performing COA evaluation, comparing the COAs to one another, the commander’s decision, issuing a warning order to the subordinate commands, and again refining the IPB products.
