5-18 Friendly Force List

Narrator: The OPT reviews the friendly force list to consider all available units that can be committed to the operation, paying special attention to command relationships and task organization. Ideally the wargamers employ units two levels down from their level of command. For our MEF level operation planning that equates to wings and aviation groups, divisions, regiments and brigades, logistic groups and combat logistics regiments, and unique battalions. The number of squadrons or battalions should be made known for each aviation group, regiment or combat logistics regiment available. Although task organizations may vary by COA, the friendly force list remains constant for all analyzed COAs.
