Narrator: Planners can conduct war games either manually or through computer-aided modeling and simulation applications. Time, resources, and priorities will influence which method the command will use. When a war game is conducted manually, a well run formal COA war game can be a time- consuming and onerous process, but it is worth every minute of the effort. For the intuitive level of understanding gained reduces decision making time in execution.
