Narrator: Next, the OPT begins to add shape to the synchronization matrix by identifying specific events by operational stage, adding additional sub- warfighting function categories or lines of operation, and/or adding to and refining its COA entries. This document is a planning support tool that will be used to record the viability of each COA. It is designed to integrate the efforts of the force across the warfighting functions and record the results of the COA war game. The synchronization matrix depicts, over time, the integrated actions of the entire force that are necessary to execute the COA. When completed, it provides the basis for an execution matrix or Annex X, Execution Checklist, to the OPLAN or OPORD.
