Narrator: Marine Corps planning is driven by a top-down planning approach that seeks to accurately communicate tasks and intent to the lower echelons for accomplishment while leaving room for initiative and exploitation of opportunities. Marine planning integrates close, deep, and rear battle concerns and interdependencies into the single battle concept. Integrated planning ensures that the seven Marine warfighting functions are fully considered in the plan. The warfighting functions and the capabilities of adjacent and subordinate commands are represented by liaison officers to the planning process.
