Deputy G-3: Thank you sir, JTF-T has become responsible for the air defense of Tunisia and has been given permission to use the Tunisian airfields of Bizerte, Tunis, Thyna, and Monastir. All seaports from Sfax north to Tabarka, located on the Tunisian-Algerian border, are also available for US use. As far as friendly forces, the Tunisian 313th Brigade is currently in the vicinity of Ben Gardane/Djerba Island. Two US Carrier Strike Groups and one US Expeditionary Strike Group are within the operational radius of the Tunisian-Libyan border. We have been assigned the east half of Tunisia as our area of operations with the Army having been assigned the west.
