LtCol Mike D’Eredita is an Infantry Officer with 20 years of Active Duty experience. LtCol D’Eredita was commissioned in 2004 upon graduation from Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, VA with a B.A. in History. Upon completion of The Basic School and Infantry Officer’s Course, he was assigned to 1st Battalion, 3d Marines in Kaneohe Bay, HI where he completed three deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. LtCol D’Eredita next served as a Fleet Anti-Terrorism Security Team (FAST) Platoon Commander, deploying to the 7th Fleet AOR in support of Teater Security Cooperation efforts in the region. He then served as Weapons Company Commander and Battalion Operations Officer for 3d Battalion, 2nd Marines, deploying first with the 26th MEU to the CENTCOM AOR and later to Okinawa, Japan in support of the Unit Deployment Program. Following this assignment, he served as Faculty Advisor, Maneuver Branch Deputy, and Battle Staff Training Program Lead at the Marine Corps Tactics and Operations Group (MCTOG) in 29 Palms, California. In his final assignment before joining the Command and Staff College faculty, LtCol D’Eredita served as the Overseas Contingency Branch Chief at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA). Since joining Command and Staff College, LtCol D’Eredita served for two years as a Military Faculty Advisor before assuming his current role as the Leadership Department Head.
LtCol D’Eredita is a graduate of Expeditionary Warfare School, Command & Staff College, Joint and Combined Warfare School, and the Maritime Staff Planners Course. He holds a Masters in Military Studies from Command & Staff College, and is a Joint Qualified Officer (JQO).
