Mr. Michael E. Ronza serves as the Deputy Director, Academic Operations at the Command and Staff College, Marine Corps University, Quantico, Virginia. Prior to assuming this position in 2012, Mr. Ronza was the Deputy Director of the college’s Warfighting Department. His last active duty assignment was as a Faculty Advisor and Senior Air Force Representative at Command and Staff College from 2006 – 2008, when he retired with over 20 years of service in the Air Force.
While on active duty, Lieutenant Colonel Ronza was a Senior Navigator, amassing over 2300 hours in the C-141B and the T-43A and earned both flight examiner and instructor qualifications. His operational tours include mobility assignments to Incirlik Air Base, Turkey and Ramstein Air Base, Germany. He flew missions in support of Operations JUST CAUSE, DESERT SHIELD/STORM, and ENDURING FREEDOM. He also deployed to Joint Headquarters Staff in Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. Colonel Ronza served on the faculty at the Air Force Academy where he taught in the Military Arts and Science Department.
As the Deputy Director of Academic Operations, he is charged to lead and coordinate the planning and execution of all academic activities, coordinate faculty development efforts, and liaise with colleagues and stakeholders across Marine Corps University in support of the college’s academic mission.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in management from the US Air Force Academy, a Masters in Management from Webster University, a Masters of Military Operational Arts and Science from Air University, and an Education Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Liberty University.
