LtCol Kevin B. DeWitt, CSC

LtCol DeWitt serves as the Conference Group 16 Military Faculty Advisor (MILFAC), Command and Staff College, Marine Corps University.  Prior to becoming a MILFAC in July 2016, he served as the Assistant Chief of Staff (G-4) at Marine Forces Korea (MARFORK) in Seoul, Korea from May 2015 to June 2016.   

From 2013 to 2015, he served as Prepositioning Officer for Headquarters Marine Corps Installations and Logistics (HQMC I&L) where he led Service-level supporting efforts to the Maritime Prepositioning Force (MPF) and the Marine Corps Prepositioning Program – Norway (MCPP-N). He coordinated these programs with Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD) Joint Staff, sister-Service, and Marine Corps Logistics Command to support Marine operational forces.

From 2010 to 2013, he served at Training and Education Command (TECOM) in different billets.  First he served as the Logistics Command and Control Training and Education officer with Command and Control Training and Education Center of Excellence (C2TECOE) in which he trained operating force commands on the use of logistics C2 systems and applications. His second assignment was as Current Operations Officer for MAGFT Staff Training Program (MSTP) in which the unit trained Marine command elements on best tactics, techniques, and procedures for conducting staff planning and functions. 

From 2008 to 2010, he served as the Operations Officer and subsequently as the Executive Officer for Marine Wing Support Squadron 273 (MWSS-273) in Beaufort, SC.  As the Operations Officer, the squadron deployed to Al Asad Iraq to provide Aviation Ground Support to all aviation assets for six months within the Al Anbar province.

Prior to his time at MWSS-273, LtCol DeWitt served as:(1) a Logistics Advisor with 3d Battalion, 1st Brigade, 1st Iraqi Army Division on a Military Transition Team (MiTT) in Habbaniyah, Iraq; (2) the S-4A / Embark / Motor Transport/Maintenance Management Officer (MMO) with Marine Security Forces Battalion in Norfolk, VA; (3) the Support Branch Head with Special Operations Training Group (SOTG) with III Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) in Okinawa; (4) the S-4A/MMO/Engineer Officer with III MEF Headquarters Group (MHG)  in Okinawa; (5) the Team Embarkation Officer aboard the USS TARAWA; (6) the S-4A, MMO, and Embark Officer with; and Battalion Landing Team 3d Battalion, 1st Marines (BLT 3/1), which deployed with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU).  

LtCol DeWitt earned an undergraduate degree in History from Memphis State Universtiy and a masters degree in Management from the University of Maryland University College.  He is a graduate USMC Team Embarkation Officer School, USMC Expeditionary Warfare School, Tactical Logistics Operations Course, Military Justice and Civil Law Senior Officer Course, Advanced Logistics Operations Course (Honor Graduate), Marine Corps Logistics Education Program, USMC Command and Staff College, and the Interagency Logistics Course.  His personal awards include two Meritorious Service medals, three Navy and Marine Corps Commendations medals, and one Navy and Marine Corps Achievement medal.
