Supervisory Historian, Histories Branch History Division
Dr. Neumann spent five years teaching at the collegiate level, including classes at Texas A&M University, Newman University, and the United States Military Academy, West Point. I joined the U.S. Army Center of Military History in 2010 and developed expertise in U.S. Army operations in Afghanistan. From 2014-2017 I was a member of the Chief of Staff of the Army’s Operation ENDURING FREEDOM Study Group, which produced a two-volume operational history of the war. I was lead author on the 2005-2008 section. From 2016-2018 I was the CMH WWI SME for the WWI Centennial Commemoration. In 2020 I joined the Marine Corps History Division as the Supervisory Historian, Histories Branch.
