OPERATIONAL CULTURE GENERAL

Culture general classes provide the culture general concepts and skills that Marines will apply wherever they are deployed.  They provide a firm foundation for subsequent region-specific, culture-specific, and language learning. Combined, these four learning domains enhance Marines' cross-cultural competence in dealing with threat, friendly, and neutral groups in any area of operations. Ideally, culture general classes are taught first during pre-deployment training, or they can be taught as part of a unit PME program. See our Training Course Catalog for available classes and their associated LREC T&R Events.

All of our culture general classes are based on a well researched, academic foundation as articulated in the Culture General Guidebook for Military Professionals, which is available for download in our Publications and Resources.
